Hey loves! Here’s another type of series post that I’ll be doing monthly as well. It’s called Mini Minutes. I took the British definition of minutes, which is defined as “a written summary or note”. These posts are going to be a little summary of what’s happened in the past month - kind of like an overview of the blog and myself. I’m going to share with you some awesome things that have happened, things I’d like to put behind me and more! I’m going to try to keep them somewhat short so I can stick with the “mini” in Mini Minutes. Here is September’s Mini Minutes.
Recently life has been going so well for me! I’ve begun to take blogging more seriously and completely transformed my blog and I’m still working on it daily to make it a great resource for others. I’ll be posting about how I completely re-designed my website soon.
I was also so pleased to have been accepted into the Her Campus Premier Blogging Network this month. I’ve also joined some great blogging groups on Facebook to connect more with my fellow bloggers. I’ve learned so much about blogging and treating it like a business!
October is going to be a super busy month for me and I’m really happy about that - I always find myself happier when I’m more busy. I’ve also gotten back into graphic and web design, something I started doing when I was 10 years old, but stopped for some reason. I’m excited to get back at it again!
What I’d like to put behind me
There’s actually not a whole lot I want to put behind me this month, which is good! I think one thing I want to improve on this month though is upping my game on my Instagram photos. I’ve realized they’re kind of… blah. Sometimes they’re a little too dark and I’m just personally not loving it and I think it’s important to love what you put out on the internet as a blogger or business. So, I’m working on making my IG photos more consistent with each other.
For some reason I tend to attract awkward things. In the moment, it’s beyond awkward, but as I look back at it I can’t help but laugh. A couple of weeks ago I was at the gym. Earbuds in, watching One Tree Hill on Netflix trying to finish the series, when this old man starts walking on the treadmill next to me. He is staring at me the whole time and I’m afraid to look at him and make the situation even more awkward. I can’t pay attention to One Tree Hill because I just can’t help but see this old man staring at me from the corner of my eye.
Then I feel a tapping on my shoulder; it’s him. “How long do you exercise?” he asks me. I tell him about 30-40 minutes and he gives me a huge “WOW”. Thinking this encounter has now ended I put my earbuds back in and try to keep watching OTH as I need to see what happens to Nathan because there is no way he can die. I then feel a yanking on my earbuds - apparently he was trying to take them out to talk to me? “You can brag to all of your friends that you worked out with a 97 year old man!” he said with a big grin and then walked away.
Although this was extremely awkward and I’m not sure I can really brag about this situation, I definitely give him kudos for being on a treadmill at 97 years old - how cool is that!
